The operating principles of the air conditioning systems, in each case, are the following :
energy absorption from one point and release it to another point
For this process, an indoor unit, an outdoor unit and copper pipings for their connection is required. The refrigerant flows from one unit to another through the pipings. The refrigerant is what absorbs the energy in one unit and releases it in another.
Cooling Program
Indoor Unit
A fan passes the warm indoor air from a heat exchanger in which refrigerant flows. The refrigerant absorbs heat from the air and cooled air is blown into the room.
Copper Tubing
The refrigerant circulates through the units and the piping that carries heat from the indoor to the outdoor unit.
Outdoor Unit
By compressing the refrigerant gas is heated and increases the boiling point. In the outdoor unit the obtained heat through compression is released to the outside air through a fan which blows the outdoor air over a heat exchanger.
Coolant
The refrigerant returns to the indoor unit.
Indoor
The indoor unit refrigerant decompressed, which allows it to extract heat from the indoor air.
